Bebek Goreng

1 duck, cut into 8-10 pieces

500 ml coconut juice (I skipped)

Oil (I used sunflower oil)


8 cloves shallot (I used 4 cloves shallot since shallot here bigger than in Indonesia)

4 cloves garlic

1 tbs coriander seed (I used 1 tbs coriander powder)

2 cm ginger (I used 1 tsp ginger powder)

3 candlenuts

1/2 tsp sugar

1/2 tsp turmeric powder


2 bay leaves

1 lemon grass

galangal 2 cm

tamarind + salt + vinegar (I skipped)


I used slow cooker this time to make it easier. I just put all the ingredients and duck pieces into it. After the duct tender, take it from the slow cooker. Heat the oil in the frying pan. Fry it until dried and the color turn into brown. Serve with rice, raw veggie(cucumber, lettuce and tomato) and sambal/chili. This time I used sambal bawang.
